A Hittyville Adventure...Timing

Opie asks Aunt Bee if he may go boating with Simon and Harry Merry tonight.  He promises to be home before his curfew. Opie did try and find his dad to ask permission, but he was working.
Aunt Bee tells her nephew to have fun and be careful.

Later...
Andy and Aunt Bee cannot believe how much Opie has grown up and how independent he has become.
They are happy about the fine young man he is becoming, but miss the little boy who was always underfoot.

Aunt Bee thinks Andy should find himself a lady friend.
Maybe it is time to ask Nancy Drew out for a date again.

Andy proposed marriage to Nancy several years ago and Nancy very kindly told him the timing was just not right.  He has never stopped loving the detective/author, and is relieved they have remained the best of friends and partners in crime solving.
But maybe, just maybe, things could be different now that Opie is older and Nancy is a published author.
Andy does not want to do anything to jeopardize their friendship.

Meanwhile...
Nancy Drew has been thinking about Andy quite often lately.  She wonders if she did the right thing by rejecting his marriage proposal a while back.
At the time, being an author seemed more important than anything.  Now that the Nancy Drew Mysteries are best sellers, life seems a bit lonely and Nancy can't stop thinking about the handsome and ever kind Sheriff.
Hmm...

~To be continued~
