Easter With Abe

Easter 2016 dawned bright and beautiful...and warm!  Cassi and Pat usually host our family Easter meal, but they were on a cruise.  My brother had part of the family at his home and the rest of us headed to the Hofbrauhaus in Cleveland and then to Noah, Amy, and Abe's home for our celebration.

On Easter Eve...

Abe baked cookies for our Dessert Party.

On Easter...
Noah was going to cook, but after a hectic week at school, we offered to take everyone out to eat.  The trick was finding somewhere to accommodate nine people.  The Hofbrauhaus had an opening, we are mostly German, and the Easter Bunny was going to make an appearance...not to mention live music.
Perfect!

 Yum!

Abe caught sight of the Easter Bunny and wasn't quite sure what to make of all the fuss.

Amy was very encouraging, but ultimately...it was up to Abe whether to get close and personal...or not.

And then...
As long as Abe could hold Oma's hand, it was...okay.

Back home...
It was Easter Present Time and Abe loved the tool kit he received from Brooke and Scott!

OmaJoe...as Joe and I are lovingly called...got Abe the farm set and he was quite taken with it.
He has had his eye on it for quite a while.

 Jelly bean love!

A bit later...
It was time for Abe's Easter Egg Hunt!

There were ten eggs...with a special Hot Wheel in each one!

 Counting away...

Abe is the most loved child...

Back inside...
After assembling his vehicles, Abe thought the barn needed a bit of work.
He named the little farmer Farmer Joe.
Joe, of course, loved that!

 Banana split time...

Abe decided to gather all his "farm animals" together and wanted Scott's help.
They made quite a team!

Meanwhile...
Joe and Noah hung up Noah and Amy's newest art piece by Cleveland abstract artist, Dana Oldfather.
I love how they have such a variety of art throughout their home.

Abe passed out his Easter cards to all of us and I was so happy to receive two and felt rather special until Joe was handed FOUR cards!
All kidding aside, I truly love how much Abe adores his Grandpa Joe.

Getting to know you...

Looks like a bit of a stand-off!
Actually, they are all getting along famously...

Abe Dali

Noah couldn't resist capturing Abe's likeness to Salvador Dali...
The "mustache" was from a smoothie.

Celebrating Purple

Grandma Gladys' favorite color is purple and Vicki decided a trip to Hittyville Park was in order because the purple myrtle flowers were beginning to bloom.
It was the best of days for a granddaughter and her beloved grandmother.
