Weekend Adventures

I felt like an adventure last Saturday and Joe went along like the great husband he is!
Lunch was a must and Rockne's was a nice change from the few places we have to eat in Ashland.

I saw a sign for Root Candles and we decided to stop...Cassi makes special trips to this store and now I know why!

The store and candle making shop are located in Medina, Ohio and has been a family business for generations.  I swear the building is a block long.

I thought of my daughter-in-law when I saw all these "balancing" candles.
We did choose a couple of scents and the candles burn while I work on projects.
This company's bread and butter are the candles they send to churches around the world!

I found some journaling treasures in this crazy store.
The owner has a doll house he wants to sell and it is in storage.  I have been waiting for months for him to get back to me and when I saw him on Saturday, he had totally forgotten about it and promised to send me photos on Monday.
He didn't.

We traveled to the house Joe is helping remodel.
I love the little house which will be a rental.

I love the view from the bridge even more.

Just around the corner, we visited Dawn's store and I found some wonderful little things for Hittyville.

This quirky shop carries some unique assemblage odds and ends.
Yep...I was lucky again!

We ended up at Crocker Park where there is a Cheesecake Factory.
Joe and I love the orange chicken and brought some cheesecake home.
It is great fun to travel around the Cleveland/Medina area, but we are always happy to head home to our farm.

Sunday...
Back up to Cleveland we went.  Our first stop was Noah, Amy, and Abe's house to measure for some bookshelves they want Joe to build.
Abe and I played.
Then on to Pat and Cassi's house to celebrate my niece, Anna's, 40th birthday!
I remember when my sister carried her off the plane all the way from India.
Both of Cassi's daughters are from Mother Teresa's orphanages.

Corey and Kate celebrating with the birthday girl...

My brother is a dog whisperer.  Layla ran right to him and started hugging and kissing Johnny.
He has always had a way with animals.
I love this picture.

And speaking of pictures, I didn't take too many on Sunday.  I was busy socializing with everyone.
I need to get back in the swing of capturing famiy moments.
