Rewriting History

It was always my dream to have my own bedroom.  It never happened because of the lack of space and there were, after all, 5 children.
The most wonderful thing about Hittyville is that ANYTHING is possible and for Little Vicki, her dream did come true.

Cassi has had enough!  She would like to practice her french horn in some semblance of peace and quiet and Vicki is teaching her dolls and bears to sing the show tune, Oklahoma.
Her guinea pigs and even Buffy, their pet chihuahua, are joining in!
Cassi needs to talk to Mom and Dad.

Cassi tells her parents she does not like to tattletale....but Vicki and all her "things" are making it impossible for her to practice her music, do her homework, even sleep in their bedroom.  Vicki is up at all hours reading and even when she makes a tent out of her covers and uses a flashlight, sleep is impossible!

Later...
Mom and Dad decided to hold a Family Meeting when Vicki was riding bikes with Joey.
Dad asks his children if they would mind if Vicki had her own room.
There is a space in the attic he could turn into a room for their big sister, but if anyone objects, the project would not go forward because there is not enough space for each of them to have their own room.
Kate, Missy, Cassi, and Johnny all happily agree Vicki should have her own room and want it to be a surprise.

Later...
Vicki wonders what all that banging is up in the attic and why her family is acting so mysteriously about it.

And then...
SURPRISE!
Vicki has a room of her own!  There is an extra bed if anyone wants to sleep over, a table for journaling and art projects, and a REAL fireplace to sit by and read!
Vicki's heart is filled with joy and she can't wait to bring all her beloved things up to her new room.
And Cassi can't wait to help her!

~It was the happiest of days for Vicki...and Cassi~

  1. I love how all those dreams can come true in Hittyville. How wonderful that Vicki now has her own room and that Cassi also has the space to do the things she wants to. What lucky girls they are and what a super bedroom.

  2. What a lovely story! It reminds me of all the heartwarming stories in books such as the Bullerby children where Lisa gets her own room, or Betsy-Tacy where Betsy gets her writing desk (her uncle´s trunk). I wish it could have happened this way for you in real life - but isn´t it wonderful to have Hittyville where it just did!

    1. Yukari...I do believe we are kindred spirits! I love that Betsy-Tacy story about the trunk and I was able to read the chapter about Lisa's own room in an Amazon sample. Hittyville is definitely my favorite place! Thank you for continuing to visit.
