The Merry Family

The Merry Family lived in my imagination for many years and then I was beyond fortunate to have Paulette Morrissey bring my beloved friends to "doll life" several years ago.

I woke up in the middle of the night last night thinking about the Merrys and wanting to tell their Hittyville stories again.  I have missed them.

I found the Scrapbook I started while waiting for Paulette to make my dolls and had fun revisiting their beginnings.

A brief reintroduction of the Merry Family...

Thomas Potter Merry~Dad

is an inventor and author of a Time Travel Family book series.  He has a "time travel" van he drives to book signings.

Thomas works from home and his family is his first priority.

Thomas hails from England...the Lake District National Park area to be exact.

Rupert Merry~Grandfather

is Thomas' father.  This jolly fellow is an historian and has written numerous books and articles on the history of the Lake District National Park in England...where he worked for many years before moving to Hittyville with his wife and family.

Rupert is presently the Mayor of Hittyville Acres and helps oversee Hittyville's forests along with the Gnomes.

Lydia Merry~Grandmother

is Thomas' mother.  This kind and energetic lady designs knitted dolls and has created an amazing Homeschool Curriculum used both in England and the United States.

Lydia teaches many arts and crafts classes at Hittyville's Art From the Heart Studio.

Bella Monet DuPont Merry~Mom
 is first and foremost the mother of seven children!
This beautiful and very busy lady was born and raised in Paris, France and spends her spare "moments" creating paper doll books.

Pierre DuPont~Pepe

is a Frenchman through and through.  He served as a museum curator at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France and has a special talent for putting together visiting exhibits.  Pierre is also a well known watercolor artist.

After Pierre and his wife moved to Hittyville to be with their extended family, the DuPonts opened The Hittyville Monet Museum.  This talented man is still a traveling exhibit consultant for many museums all around the world.

Eloise DuPont~Mimi

is a master garden designer and worked as head gardener at Monet's Gardens in France for many years.  She loves living in Hittyville and being near her family.  Eloise assists her husband with The Hittyville Monet Museum and is also the president of the Hittyville Garden Club and working on a book about Monet's Gardens.

The Merry Children...

Gracie Rose Merry

is fourteen years old and loves animals!  Gracie works with all the animals in Hittyville and has a gift for communicating with them.

The oldest Merry child also has quite a menagerie of her own at the Merry Homestead.

Harry Hemingway Merry

is twelve years old and a twin.  Harry loves designing and building things, especially boats.  

Simon Schweitzer Merry

is also twelve years old and Harry's twin brother.

Simon is a junior master Lego builder.  The Lego Company has asked Simon to be a consultant on a new line of Lego's for children.

Poppy Anne Merry

is ten years old and loves that she has one blue eye and one brown eye!

Poppy is a free spirit and spends much of her time creating art projects.

Gemma Lily Merry

is eight years old and a twin.  This happy little girl loves dolls and dollhouses and is in the process of creating her very own Little Hittyville.

Daisy Marie Merry

is also eight years old and Gemma's twin sister.  Daisy's life centers around reading books and working on her illustrated diaries.

Beatrix Violet Merry~Bea

is six years old and the youngest member of the Merry Family.

Bea is never without one of her cherished baby dolls and is her mother's shadow.

Bea is much loved by her whole family.
